Busodamak
Busodamak floating on the lake
Resembling a scene of floating on the Geumgang River, Busodamak is a must-visit attraction in Okcheon and a perfect destination for all seasons. This area is known for its beautiful scenery, to the extent that it was praised by the poet Song Si-yeol as a mini Geumgang Mountain. One of the charms of this place is the 700-meter-long cliff that seems as if a dragon flew past over the river. If you climb up to the pavilion (Chusojeong) standing tall on the rocky mountain peak, you can enjoy a stunning view of the landscape. The cliff didn't have this shape from the beginning. With the completion of Daecheong Dam in 1980, the water level rose as the water was dammed. As a result, some parts of the mountains were submerged, creating a landscape where rocks and cliffs are surrounded by water. It was selected as one of the "100 Beautiful Rivers of Korea" by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in 2008. Buso Damak Parking Lot can be reached by crossing the bridge in front of Gunbuk Administrative Welfare Center, making a right turn, then proceeding for about 5 km. If you walk 600 meters from here, you will arrive at Chusojeong. In 2021, a 400-meter-long observation deck was created towards a village in Chuso-ri, allowing access from both directions.
