Annam Dongnakjeong
Driving through Geumgang Village Geumgang Recreation Area to Okcheon Dongnakjeong
The 20-km-long drive-through along the Geumgang River in Okcheon takes you into the heart of Gangchon Village. The starting point is the Geumgang Recreation Area, located adjacent to the Geumgang Intersection (IC) of the Gyeongbu Expressway. In 1970, with the completion of the Gyeongbu Expressway that crossed the Geumgang River, followed by the opening of the Geumgang Rest Area the following year, this place gained popularity as a recreation area. Crossing the suspension bridge at Geumgang Recreation Area, you will come across the first neighborhood in Okcheon known as Godang-ri, located about 2 km south. It is also referred to as "High Ridge." Continuing down for another 1.2 km, you will see the neighboring Gangchon Village. If you continue running along the river, you will find Cheongseong-myeon Hapgeum-ri and Dongi-myeon Cheongma-ri situated on both sides of the river. In the past, the neighboring Hapgeum-ri and Cheongma-ri were connected by a submerged bridge (Sewolgyo Bridge) which was slightly higher than the water surface, with the Geumgang River in between. However, now there are four bridges, namely Cheongmagyo Bridge, Hapgeumgyo Bridge, Gadeokgyo Bridge, and Cheongmadaegyo Bridge, providing not only convenient transportation for residents but also gaining popularity as a scenic drive route for visitors. If you continue on the road and enter the location of Annam-myeon, after that, you will reach the final destination, Okcheon Dongnakjeong, by going down along the Annamcheon Stream, a tributary of the Geumgang River, for about 1 km.
